What is Medicare Advantage?

Medicare Advantage (MA) plans give you another way to receive your Medicare Part A and Part B benefits. Unlike Original Medicare alone, these plans often come with extra coverage. They work much like the health insurance you may have had through an employer, with provider networks, set co-pays, and limits on how much you can spend out of pocket.

Many MA plans include added benefits, which is why about half of all people on Medicare choose them, according to KFF.org. Common extras include prescription drug coverage, routine vision and dental care, hearing services, and fitness programs. With iHealthcompare, you can compare plans available in your area and find one that best fits your needs.

Some MA plans even offer a $0 monthly premium. However, you still have to pay your Medicare Part B premium, which is $185 in 2025. Choosing the right plan can feel overwhelming, but iHealthcompare makes it simple. We’ll explain your options and help you make a clear choice for your new coverage.
